We urgently ask the Maryland Aviation Administration to support the renewal of Silver Diner’s lease at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport. It is crucial to prevent a foreign-based landlord from breaking its promise and replacing this favorite establishment with a multi-national corporation and its licensed brand.

We don’t like paying higher prices, especially for an unnecessary demolition and rebuild, which would also result in the loss of 120 Maryland jobs. We cherish our locally owned Silver Diner, which consistently delivers exceptional food and service, offering us and fellow BWI passengers affordable options and diverse choices.

Since 2007, Silver Diner has been a proud part of BWI, embodying the values we wish to see at Maryland’s airport: a Maryland-founded, locally owned and operated, family-friendly diner that serves locally sourced food and all-day breakfast. It provides travelers with a competitively priced, authentic alternative to the typical alcohol-focused licensed restaurants run by large corporations.

The Diner’s 120 employees, nearly two-decade history at BWI, and dedication to healthy eating and fair pricing are invaluable assets. We implore you to use every measure within MAA s power to ensure Silver Diner s continued presence at BWI, where it has served Maryland travelers excellently for years.
